What makes our candles different?

The vessel

Your handcrafted cement vessel was created with the intention of being reused once you reach the end of your candle. Use it to plant your seed-paper dust cover, store pens on your desk, jewelry on your dresser, or let the kids paint it and store crayons in it.

The wax

Compared to soy and paraffin waxes, coconut wax candles offer the cleanest burn. With almost zero soot, these products will not create a negative impact on the environment.

It also has a higher melting point. This means your candles last longer. A longer lasting candle=better investment

Coconut wax is very soft which allows it to blend with fragrance oil even better. Because of that, your fragrance throw is better. Of course you'll smell your candle when it's burning but what about when it isn't? Coconut wax is known to have a really good cold throw (the ability to smell the candle even when it isn't lit) so you'll notice that even if it's on the table near you and not burning, you'll be able to smell it!

As you use your candle, you may notice some wax hanging up on the walls of the vessel. That's completely normal and expected. Unlike glass jar candles which get hot when they burn (ouch!), cement doesn't get very warm which means wax seems to hang out on the walls of the vessel a little longer. Don't worry, as your wax begins to lower over the course of several burns, the inside will get warmer and the hangup will begin to melt. Kinda neat, huh?!

The wick

We use only FSC Certified Wicks. This means it meets the "gold standard" in ethical production. The wood used in our wicks is harvested from forests that are responsibly managed and environmentally conscious. All of our wicks are made in the USA.

The cement sealer

We use Earth Safe Sealer to form a barrier between the wax and the cement. This sealer is non-toxic, water-based, no VOC, and made in the USA.

The fragrance oil

Every fragrance oil we use in our candles is phthalate-free. Phthalates are a group of chemicals that are used in candles to help bind the fragrance to the wax leading to a better aromatic experience. These chemical compounds are linked to many health concerns. Our fragrance oils are also 100% cruelty-free!
