Our Story

Hey there! We’re so glad you’re here!

We’re Lindsay and Zack, and these are our pups, Breckenridge (Breck) and Murphy. Together, we’re the team behind Wood + Wicks Handcrafted. Lindsay handles the making, Zack is there to bounce ideas off (and help with numbers), and Breck & Murphy are our trusty sidekicks-offering plenty of love and moral support.

Wood + Wicks began with a simple idea: cement vessels. I (Lindsay) started experimenting with cement. I made a few planters, and immediately fell in love with the process. While they turned out great, I wasn’t sure if I could build a business around it. After some thinking, I realized I could combine cement with something even more functional: candles. And then, what if the vessels could be repurposed as planters once the candles were gone? And that’s how it all came together.

We’re committed to creating sustainable, thoughtful products. Each cement vessel is handcrafted by us, and our products are made with the cleanest, non-toxic ingredients out there. Our seed-paper dust covers are made with native wildflower seeds and recycled paper, and our packaging is 100% recyclable.

And that’s it - candles with a purpose.

In my past life I was an Exercise Physiologist. While I had a passion for it and it paid the bills, it just wasn’t REALLY doing it for me. I was yearning to be creative. Making candles has become deeply personal for me. The process, the hands-on work, the care it takes to mix and pour, the attention to each tiny detail has been incredibly healing for my mental health.  The process of getting lost in my work has allowed so much mental clarity. There’s something about the calming scents, the soft crackle of the wood wick, and the quiet rhythm of creating that brings me peace. It’s a form of self-care I didn’t know I needed until I found it.
