We’re Lindsay and Zack, and these are our Golden Boys, Breckenridge (Breck) and Murphy. Together, we’re the team behind Slow Living. Lindsay brings the hands-on creativity, Zack is the unpaid intern & market helper, and Breck & Murphy are here to offer endless love.

Slow Living began with a simple spark: a love for working with cement. I (Lindsay) started experimenting with cement vessels, making a few planters, and immediately fell in love with the process. I realized there was a way to combine this craft with something even more practical: candles. And then, the idea of vessels that could live on as planters once the candle had burned out felt like the perfect slow, thoughtful design. That’s how Slow Living came to life.

Every product we create is rooted in intention. Our cement vessels are handcrafted by us, and our candles are made with clean, non-toxic ingredients. Each seed-paper dust cover is made with native wildflower seeds and recycled paper, and all of our packaging is 100% reusable or recyclable.

In my past life, I was an Exercise Physiologist. While I loved the work and it paid the bills, I longed for something more creative, something that allowed me to slow down and fully engage. Making candles has become deeply personal. It’s a quiet, meditative process that brings clarity and calm. The hands-on work, the care it takes to mix and pour, the small details - each step is intentional. There’s something restorative about the gentle scents, the soft crackle of the wood wick, and the slow rhythm of creating. It’s a form of self-care I didn’t know I needed until I found it, and now it shapes everything we do at Slow Living.
